All known information on Call of Duty MW3 Ranked Play Fetching Profile Loop Glitch
*UPDATE: Player’s report that the Fetching Profile Loop Glitch has ben RESOLVED in Ranked Play following the April 16th, 2024 Update. If you are still having issues, please comment on this post and we will investigate the issue further.*
Have you recently attempted to queue back up in Call of Duty MW3’s Ranked Play game mode, only to find yourself stuck in the infinite “Fetching Profile” loop glitch? You are not alone! Users far and wide are reporting the multiplayer Ranked Play game mode to be simply unavailable to them for as long as several weeks now.
Platforms experiencing the Fetching Account Loop
All platforms have reported experiencing the Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play Fetching Profile loop including: Playstation, Xbox, Steam and Battlenet. As far as we can see, the issue seems to be equally persistent across all platforms.
Comments from developers / PR Department
We have recently reached out to Activision Blizzard to no yet avail. Though it is clear, as large scale as this glitch seems to be, they may not be interesting in commenting on the issue with the public until more information can be gathered.
Known solutions
No verified solutions to the MW3 Fetching Profile loop currently.
Though, some console users have reported multiple potential solutions. Powering off their consoles, or joining a friend party or reinstalling. However, this seldom appears to work. Below, we have posted a video from DJ Tzh on Youtube with a potential solution for console
PC users have reported logging out of their account and logging back into the account on another device with the fetching account loop still present on the new device. This leads us to believe that the glitch itself appears to be a server side error.

Cause
From scouring multiple, multiple threads and reading the reports of users, the only commonality I seem to see at this point is that many are reporting this issue after completing their 100th Ranked Play win reward… This leads me to believe that this glitch may have something to do with the Ranked Play rewards system, as we can verify that the rewards button near the bottom right hand side of the Ranked Play lobby menu was recently broken for many following the Season 3 update. The funny thing is, my brother (who currently has the Fetching Profile loop, and has for several days now) reported that the button was still broken for him at the time of the fetching profile loop occurance. Meanwhile for me, I have yet to experience the bug and the Ranked Play button seems to work without issue.
