Treyarch adds new Ranked Play guns to Ranked

Beginning April 16th, 2024 Treyarch will have added new Ranked Play guns: 3 new ARs and 2 new SMGs. This follows complaints stemming from CDL pros about the recent Season 3 weapons balancing which had nerfed both the Rival-9 and the MCW. Though, the MCW definitely saw the worst of it. I myself have noticed that since the season 3 weapons balancing, my MCW simply isn’t hitting like it used to, so it will be nice to try out some of these other options while we can. These weapons being introduced into Ranked Play are strictly experimental for the time being and any CDL disapproved weapons will be removed by April 23, 2024.

New Ranked Play Guns

The 5 new guns being introduced into ranked play are:

BP50 (Classes)
Holger 556 (Classes)
MTZ-556 (Classes)

Will the new Ranked Play guns stay?

At this point, we can’t be sure if all of these weapons will be staying in Ranked Play. We do have high hopes for the BP50 however, as this AR was heavily pushed for by CDL pros going into Major 3 qualifiers. Some speculate that it won’t be the first time that the MTZ-556 or Ram-9 see the light of Ranked Play, as they were available for use in earlier seasons. With that said, they were swiftly removed for being “broken.”

I think it’s fair to say we will see at least one of each weapons class keep a permanent spot in Ranked Play with all of the fuss we’ve seen lately. For now, we wait!
